where does "hate" come into the scenario? Such a wasted emotion. One can be perturbed about whatever inconvenience they feel they've been subjected to but ... seriously ... "hate"?
I've always been one for leaving the seat down until I realized that keeping the seat down just increases the bacteria build-up. Trust me on this one. I'm as stubborn as hell but after having had to clean many toilets in my life (and few of them my own) ... I've learned a few things.

it doesnt matter to me...if a guy left the seat up...i'll just put it down...its not a big deal to make out of....i would hate you

Being somewhat anal retentive myself, I prefer it closed but I have to agree with Paler Shade. It causes a lot of bacteria growth and requires more frequent and thorough cleaning. Would I hate you? Sorry, that word isn't part of my vocabulary.
