When Thumbs down are given should the user ID be shown?!
Question: Seems to be a lot of people giving thumbs down just for the hell of it and its not really nice.
When you star a question the ID is shown, SHould it not be the same for thumbs down and would this not help aleviate the problem of thumbs down been given to every answer to a question just because someone has nothing better to do?

I've suggested that a few times, that would be a good idea.

It would stop or discourage the IDIOTS who give thumbs down for no apparent reason but at the same time would discourage genuine criticism due to the you gave me one im going to give you one attitude.
it would probably be better not to have the thumbs down rating but keep the thumbs up so people can make it known they agree with or like an answer

Yes!! I've noticed that myself!! thumbs down for the most honest answer to! I picture alot of fat lazy guys eating chips @ their computer just randomly thumbing down answers.

I think that is a good idea, and also display who reports a question, and thumbs up too.
That's great in theory, but seeing as most people do it with mulitple accounts just to get to people. So most of them wouldn't care. I very rarely TD, only if I'm actually offended by the comment - i.e. homophobia, racism etc

Just follow the thumbs down until they end at the answer coming from a bigot. It's not hard to figure out who they are.
LOL I get thumbs down when I answer questions what music I listen to. My phantom thumber is very dedicated to his task. He even follows me to a different section.
