Have you ever been in a tornado?!

Question: I have. Scary!

Answers: I have. Scary!

Yes I have - lived in the Midwest most of my life in USA - and have lost one roof off a house, and a garage and storage building during another one. A chest of drawers was found in Wisconsin - it contained cancelled checks - had my phone number on them - and the farmer's wife called and said that he husband had found the chest in a field he was ploughing. Not a scratch on the chest! It was in the house where we lost the roof in southern Missouri. Amazing! CJ

no

yes. You just have to hang out into the basement. When it's all done you think no big deal. It may be only because my house was not disturbed or you couldn't hear or feel anything.

The tornado was about 5 miles away. I was totally terrified and could not even put on my shoes properly. My daughter was about 15 months old and all I could do was stand in the root celler and cry.

No : (

nope but when we lived in CA I have been in Earthquakes

Yes, I have. It is VERY scary.

In Chicago 1981.

no thank god.

Yes, I have been in quite a few. Most of the time it was simply a matter of going into the basement to wait out the storm, but one time I couldn't do that. My family and I were on vacation and were driving through Kansas when a HUGE storm hit. There wasn't anything but highway and fields and storm clouds for a hundred miles on each side, and it was raining harder than I've EVER seen it before. The wind and rain were so loud that we couldn't talk to each other in the truck.

not really, i heard its scary

ex R.A.F. was a tail gunner in a tornado for 2 years.

No but I drove through Texas during a Tornado warning. I didn't see it touch down but the sky and everything was SO eerie and scary and then suddenly we drove out of it and there was blue sky and I realized it was still daytime. Weird.
I've been through numerous earthquakes though. Most, I just kinda ride through them, but some are scary. I lived in California for 42 years so experience quite a few quakes.

No, I haven't, but I have been troubled by very scary nightmares about twice a year. I dream I'm just a sweet, innocent girl living in Kansas and this terrible tornado hits my aunt Em's house and my dog and I are swept up and finally it stops in this land I hadn't heard of before. There are a bunch of really short people and this dingbat scarecrow and a fraidy baby lion and this guy made of tin who has issues with emotional intimacy. Just when I think, "heeeeey, this is a pretty cool dream I wake up back at aunt Em's and I remember a mean witch and a pretty witch and this dopehead called Oz... then it's a nightmare.
