I'm from England so i think we get to see idols a little bit later than you. But i saw one last week with a girl on it who had been on a show called something like teen idols? She was horrendous!
I watched it with my fiance and know the guy you are talking about that sang like a girl. My favorites were the girl who had just lost her Father. She showed a lot of courage to be able to sing so soon after his passing and I liked the boy who lived in his car that wrote his own song that sounded British although he is an American.
