Why is it that sometimes even the most meaningless words could hurt you so deepl!

Question: It not so much the words but the emotions behind the words that make them hurtful.

Answers: It not so much the words but the emotions behind the words that make them hurtful.

it seems the tone and way the words are said that add
to the pain of hearing them.
some people lack, subtleness, tack, class, or empathy
or are plain rude, abrasive or aggressive or venting, or
taking out their anger on you....
these are reasons why they hurt so much, I think

"don't let anyone get you down"

If the words are meaningless then I don't see how they could hurt me.

If you tell someone you Love them, and the answer you get back is Yeah, I know..... OUCH !!!!!!

i guess because words are permanent
you can't take it back even though you said that it's a joke or you wished you took it back.
sometimes i feel kinda bad when people say things even when they don't mean it..
i don't know and sometimes i just brush it off

because of what you expect that person that said them to be........when someone hurts you that way, you lose faith in that person.

it depends on the situation and who tells this word....

because we are human

It depends on who said these words.

It must have been just a misunderstanding, forget about it, whatever it was he didn't mean it the way it came out. Am I apologising for someone else's sake or what lol.

Because you must already be feeling vunerable..... so anything said can be taken in a hurtful way.

If they are said insensitively that shows you do not care which is why you can get hurt because you thought the other person cared. By being insensitive, that person shows they do not care about your feelings or about you really.
