cats kill birds and bring them back to their owners house of a way of saying g thank you for the affection and love the owner gives it is like you buying a present for a family member or partner

No it isn't. It is the cats way of telling his "staff" he can't open the fridge and get the blasted chicken out to eat that is so ruthlessly being witheld from him. Good kitty.... teach him to open the fridge and take what he likes and I bet he'll stop killing those obnoxious little birds.
