Question: hat's mainstream rap and i agree 50 cent,cassidy, snoop dog etc its fantasy (my opinion) telling kids that they have money and all the money , all the girls and there real life gangsters.Metal in the 80's was the same before Nirvana came around and half of the metal bands were dropped from there label same thing except they weren't real life gangsters, they were rockstars who got all the girls and as much drugs as they wanted which appealed to the people that didn't have that.So if you want my opinion artist like 50 cent i call commercial rap is because there selling a lifestyle and i don't see it as art.
