George Carlin, Richard Pryor, Dean Obeidallah, Zach Galifianakis, Wanda Sykes, Demetri Martin, Janeane Garafalo, Lenny Bruce, Paul Rodriguez, Chris Rock, Patton Oswalt, Brian Posehn, Jim Gaffigan, Dave Chappelle, Sam Kinison, Jo Koy, etc.

George Carlin has a career work without parallel. Funny, crude, and just plain awesome. He has knowledge of words and ideas that none of the comedians today rival.
Dave Chappelle, Paul Mooney, or Dane Cook.
Mitch Hedberg was the best until he died. Of living comedians I'd say Demitri Martin. Dane Cook is a jackass.
I like Chris Rock...his jokes are pretty funny and at the same time they really get you to think...that takes a real gift, if you ask me!

George Carlin since the 60's. Also Gallagher, but if your in the first 4 rows at one of his shows, take a sheet of plastic with you. Anyone that has seen his show knows what I talking about.
