We shouldn't see any difference at all. Microsoft just wants to be a better competitor for Google. Right now Google is huge and Yahoo and Microsoft are both losing advertising dollars to Google. This will just make them more competitive to advertisers.

I don't think it'll affect the "little people" at all.

i hope it doesnt happen

global angering??

if they do buy yahoo maybe they can take care of all the 360 problems

because Bill Gates really isn't rich enough.

Monopolise? rampant capitalisim? out shopping?

I've been pondering this one all morning. It seems Yahoo is in a bit of a tight spot with ad revenue and that Microsoft had offered to buy them last year but were rejected. This time Microsoft is making an offer directly to the shareholders which is much better than what the stock is trading at currently. There aren't any obligations on the part of the stockholders towards people who participate in Yahoo programs such as email or Y!A, so there's nothing to stop them that I know of.
The questions I have are:
Does this violate any anti-trust regulations?
Will this actually make MS/Yahoo more competitive w/Google?
How will this affect consumers like myself?

He's getting his mittens into everything. I don't see where it will affect us but geeze, how much money & power does one man need?????? Can I get a buck or two????
