Why is black hair associated with goths, witches and vampires?!

Question: Who even made this up, I'm not sure.
As far as I'm concerned it is no different from any other hair color.

This is strictly a Western interpretation.

Black is associated with the absence of light, and light is associated with divinity. Like all things that aren't in the Bible are considered evil, all things not in the light are symbols of evil.

In many Eastern cultures, WHITE is the color of mourning and death.

I consider it hilariously ironic that most who consider themselves Goth or otherwise on the "dark side" out of rebellion of Christian beliefs have no idea they are basing their beliefs on a concept that arose out of Christianity. :-P

because darkness represents evil? just guessing. i think it goes way, way back.

Well, why are cheerleaders (and dumb chicks in general) always associated with blonde hair?

Why are redheads thought to be fiery and wildly impulsive?

It's just another stereotype. Labels are for soup cans.

so there harder to see in the dark.spooky hey.

it is just to get them noticed more

black is a dark color which alot of people associate with the dark arts.and afterall black is the GOTHIC color.i do not know who made up these stupid connotations, but i do not pre- judge people on what color hair they have or how they dress.
