If you were talking to your child...?!

Question: Would you say "I need to take you a bath or give you a bath"? I am not a dumb person I personally have always said l need to take you a bath. I want to see how many people say it like me. My boyfriend thinks I am nuts because I don’t say it the proper way...

I need to bathe you now or I need to give you a bath.

If I speak about myself, I would say, I am going to take a bath now.

You are definitely not "nuts". However, if you say things incorrectly, people may think you aren't as intelligent as you are. My daughter had to work with me to stop saying I'm doing good, when she asked how I was. She taught me to say, I'm doing well when she asked how I was doing. Even grown ups have to learn things after school is out! =)

get in the tub

I say I need to give you a bath but say it whichever way you want to.

I say, give

I tell my son I need to give you a bath when he was younger but now that he is older I just tell him what to do
( so much easier ) :)

I always tell my son "I need to give you a bath". It depends on where you are from too. I know someone from England who says things like that.

I need to bath you ?

Take you a bath sounds like baby talk. Are you bathing for the said subject?

Well, my son is eight, so I say, "Go take your bath before I turn the furnace off"
When he was little, I said "c'mon bubba, it's time for your bath"

I say, you need a bath!!!

"give you".its like saying you are going to "learn someone" "take you" just sounds stupid.

I tell my kids time to take a tub.

give.

Only you can take a bath, you can not take for someone else.

I wouldn't say your nuts but you are definatly not making sense - I can not even read "I need to take you a bath"

Do you mean something else because it doesn't make sense?
Is English your first language????

Just say Bath time?

thats not correct english. It is I need to give you a bath.

Good luck.

I need to give you a bath

depends on what type your child is....but usually i'd say what you say....

Girl, I'm from the south, whatever comes up comes out.

I would say 'Go and have a bath', or 'Come, it is time for your bath'.

To say "I need to take you a bath" is grammatically incorrect, but it is one of those phrases that is used in many regions where English and other languages come together (such as in the Caribbean.)

For the region, it would not necessarily be looked upon as incorrect, but grammatically, "I need to give you a bath" or "I NEED YOU TO TAKE a bath" is proper English.

i say....you need to take a bath...or i need to give you a bath...or get in tub..you smell funny. :)

when my kids were little i'd tell them it's time for a swim in the tub.
