Let's say your 75yr old neighbour is pulling out of her drive...?!

Question: and crashes into your hubby's car, which is parked across the street, leaving a gaping hole in the front near the headlight. If said neighbour doesn't want to go through her insurance for "such a thing," is said hubby responsible to get her "atleast 3 estimates" for the damages?

HELL no.

Her clumsiness imposes no duty upon your husband. You went above and beyond getting two instead of just calling your insurer (who would repair and then recover from them).

Unless you know your neighbor is wealthy, it would be kind to get her some good estimates so she can make it up to you , but not eat cat food for 3 weeks.

why are you not going to the insurance company?? because she does not want to loose he driving privileges? and is she going to pay for the damages?? I would get something in writting saying she is going to pay for the damages...take pictures of the car, yours and hers. and if she is really a good neighbor and you do not want to see her loose her driving privileges...then yes get 3 estimates...but next time she could back into that cute baby you are holding...then will you be O.K. to call the insurance company??

old drivers are as dangerous as impaired drivers.....make her take a road test....cause next time it could be your kids she's hitting...or worse my kids......do something about it
