Survey: Ladies, do you expect men to be chauvinistic?!

Question: I admit that I am chauvinistic, but I'm so upfront about it that I'm usually laughed off---therein lies the key, I think. I believe that all men have chauvinistic tendencies, but most play it down, and never express it in public. I don't have a problem admitting it myself; it would be kind of pointless to deny it, given my personality.

What do you have to say? Do you think that men are all, in varying degrees, chauvinistic? Is this something you have come to expect? Do you think a lot of men are chauvinists, but try to hide it?

I walk curbside. I open the doors. Is that chauvinistic? If so, I don't care. That's the only thing I was taught as a child that didn't hurt someone. I'm keeping it. Vote Hillary, Jack. Your sins will be washed clean.

Tsk Tsk.....

Why do I get the feeling this is just the tip of an iceberg about to be revealed?

OK- what belonging to your girlfriend did you eat this time?

Seriously, I think EVERYONE is chauvinistic to varying degrees, consciously or unconsciously.

The only ones I have low tolerance for are those who are chauvinistic to the point of actually hating and despising the opposite sex - and letting the world know it.

Umm...admitting your a mindless species.

Chauvinistic tendencies as in occasionally thinking "I am better than you?"

Doesn't everybody wrongly do that from time to time?

That is a trait that is usually apparent fairly early in a relationship. If it is low level and rather light hearted, I can handle that just fine. If they are overly chauvanistic, I can walk away before I have an emotional investment. I made up my mind at a fairly early age to never be with anyone who did not enhance my life, and as I got older, I actually reciprocated by doing my best to treat my man well. It is a shame that I lost my husband because I think we had really got the hang of the whole marriage thing. We each tried to put the other person first, and things usually went great. Occasionally, he must have had flashbacks to an amoeba type woman of his past, but he would come to his senses after we had a short converstion. He was a very happy man up until the end. Some things a mother just does not say around her Son!

I don't expect men to be chauvinistic but I know some are and some aren't. Does it bother me? Maybe, depends on how they decide to treat me. They can be overall chauvinistic but if they still show me a decent measure of respect for my abilities even though I'm the fairer gender (yes I work in a male dominated field) then I have no problem with it.

I think on the overall chauvinism tends to be cultural to a lot of places but America is a bit different because you will find it becomes geographical. Up where I live, most men aren't chauvinistic but when I've lived or visited other areas of America it has become more apparent. So long as I am respected I really have no issue with it because I'm secure enough in myself to not make a big deal out of it. Besides, with some people, it's just an intrinsic part of their personality and if you like other parts of them then it just becomes normal to the person.

I love chauvinists. That's probably why I moved to Greece and married one...LOL. Over here it isn't called 'chauvinism' but 'BEING A MAN' sort of mentality. Quite refreshing.

Yes I believe all men are chauvinistic in varying degrees. I have come to expect it.
There are some who might try to hide it, but in my opinion, men are chauvinistic to hide the fact that they really truly do not understand women.
This is NOT a put down in any way either - because I also believe women do not understand men, and that they also have a form of chauvinism toward men.

blessings ((((jack))))
