What a good question!!! I had to laugh (at myself) when I counted. I live by myself. I have 3 cell phones, 2 on different New Zealand networks and one Australian (currently on roaming). I have 3 portable landlines and one non-portable for when there are power outages. Plus, 2 spare cells and 2 spare portables. Hmm, do I have a problem? In partial defence, I work from home and am on the phone quite a lot.

I don't have a house phone but I have 5 cell phones on my plan. I carry one, my husband carries one, his aunt has one, then my Friend has the other two.

yeah i Guess that is a bit to many but they are incredibly useful in emergency's and stuff.
I have six. Three cordless phones, two cell phones (my hubby and I each have one), and 1 lanline phone that we can hook up directly to a jack in case of an emergency and power goes out. Cell phones and Cordless phones may not work in an emergency, so having one that can hook up directly to a jack is handy. Cordless phones don't work when the power goes out because they can't keep a charge and need need to have their base plugged in. Even if you have a cell phone the battery could wear down, and if you don't have power, you would not be able to recharge your phone. Just in case, that happens, keep a charger that can hook up to your car battery via a "cigarette lighter" connection, provided you are able to get to your car to keep your phone charged. Having a regular lanline phone with a regular telephone line hookup can save you in an emergency when your power goes out.
