hahahaha

good one

english quirk i think?

because it's taken, like when you're desrcibing somone getting OUT from a car "should I get down"? ANd THAT is taken because "getting out" is synonomous with leaving, i.e. "I must get out of here!"

The English language is strange!

It goes back really far...

In German, it's the same: "aufstehen" (get up) and "schlafen gehen" (go to sleep).

English and German share a common ancestor.
