In comparison to today, was life better when you were a kid?!

Question: By a gazillion times. We played outside. We actually rode bikes forever. We played barbies for hours. We had sleepovers. We went to friends houses all the time. We played outdoors after dark playing games like red light, green light. We played hide & seek. We didn't sit in front of the TV so much. We didn't play video games and computer games. We were much more physically active. Trust me, we had much more fun!!!!
There weren't kids bringing guns to school and we didn't worry about shootings and stuff like that. They weren't selling drugs in grade school. It was simpler. It was safer. It was happier. We didn't even have gangs then, if we did they sure did hide it well back then.

No, I'd say my life is pretty good right now

Absolutely, I hadn't any responsibilities beyond chores and school.

Simpler and safer maybe but not really better.

Sometimes it seems so, yes.

Oh HELL yes! The time I grew up was the best time to do so.

Yeah no bills or responsibilty

yes 'cause i was naive ...
naivety is a form of happiness , you can think that your will makes the world go round. When i was a kid i could believe that everything has a nice and happy end...

yes it was , no responsibility , being treated as a queen , getting all i want without exerting effort and feeling stable too.

No, my life pretty much sucked off and on until I was 29. The worst between 6yrs and 25yrs

better now… but there is something missing… crazy… won’t loose sleep over it…

i think it was.

No, it's better now, I have more responsibilities and sometimes I get really stress, but I'm free to take my own choices

Technically I'm still a kid...so NO. ;)

no, my life is perfect just the way it is!

nooooo....

people say sometimes its much better to be a kid,but let's face it...

you can throw your shoes wherever you like, you can avoid cleaning up forever and the fact that you dont always have to explain yourself is just.......yummy

I'm 60 now so I have to think back quite a ways. I can only say it was simpler, but that might be because I was a kid. I would not deem it better necessarily, except in some ways. There is much more technology today which is both a good thing and a bad thing at times.

Travel was more difficult then, despite all you hear about highways and airlines today. It was still harder to get places, especially long distances back then. Also, cars were not nearly as safe. There was less traffic, but roads were also poorer than today.

All in all I would say today is better, but there are still times when I long for the simpler times, but then I decide I want to get on my computer and am glad I am alive today. LOL

Much better.

there's better and worse to then and now.

Do you mean the era or decade? I have to say yeah. No 911, no gang shootings on corners, you could walk into school without fear. Almost anyone could buy a home, and get an education. Credit card debt was rare. People knew how to raise their children. No violence on TV (sometimes it's just hard to watch- do we NEED all the gore on CSI?) People thought a little harder before saying "I do".

So many happy stuff were going on...I had different perception of life...just like every young child does...Now it's all difficult... you have to worry about school, your future...everything seems insecure but I hang on..=)So yeah it definitely was better...!

~ only the not having to
pay bills other than that
my life is better now ............

It was wonderful then...beer was sooo much cheaper!

WTF....your only 14.....? bye....

No but it seemed easier... my family was very poor as I was growing up.

No, as bad as it can be, I will never let it get that bad....

So how many martian years equal a human year? I suppose life was better when I was blissfully ignorant.

A big no. My father was a very violent and mean drunk. I remember being hit a lot and being thrown into a wall so hard that wall tiles were knocked out. Now I am 49 and it is not a perfect life, but I am far happier then back then, safer too
