Yes, I had to soften it up because I bent the spoon trying to scoop some from the carton.
I always do that. Much more flavor. Usually 15 seconds on high gets it about right.
I put ice cream in the microwave on defrost sometimes when it's too hard to eat.
Not so much that it was too cold, but that it was frozen solid and bent our spoons...

The only reason for putting "Haagen Dasz" (or any other ice cream) in the microwave that I can think of would be if it were too cold/frozen solid to scoop out of the tub....and I think we probably *have* done that....but never for more than a few seconds.
