Lame or acceptable fan behavior: Saying "WE" won when your favorite te!

Question: Me, I figure if I didn't win if I'm not on the team.

Answers: Me, I figure if I didn't win if I'm not on the team.

my stupid husband does that and he calls them his boys....what a dumb *** i married

acceptable.

acceptable

acceptable

It is very acceptable.

OMG I hate that so much. SO F ING LAME

Right, there's no "we" in "my local sports team"...

If you think about it its kind of lame but I say it absentmindedly.

The fan base is a huge part of a team so it's acceptable.

its acceptable, fans usually feels a certain sense of belongingness to the object of their admiration. that makes the "we" word acceptable

Acceptable..."WE LOST"...I'm a Packer fan. :(

well. If it's a football game for a school, saying 'we won' i think is okay as saying your city/school won.

acceptable because everyone does it its just saying the team you support won...

Lame. Very, very lame.

I think its acceptable.

acceptable.... it doesnt matter if ur not on the team, still.... ur team won!! haha

lame

Acceptable but if you don't feel comfortable saying it then don't.

Roxy - HARSH!

I agree with you. The team won, not you. All you did was provide fan support, which the team probably couldn't hear.....particularly if you were watching it on tv.

They did all the work, haha.

Last time I checked I wasn't on the team so I didn't win the game.

acceptable

Same can be said for war!

Definitely acceptable.

But same applies if you lose. ;-)

Well I think it is acceptable behavior as long as you say We Won and also say We lost... instead of We Won and They lost. Take responsibility for the winds and the loses!!

Acceptable. We all want to feel like we helped in our favorite teams win, even if we were just sitting at home watching the game. Being a fan is about more that just cheering for your favorite team. It's almost a kind of... family, for lack of a better term

I live in Pittsburgh and we LOVE our football team. It's something that everyone can find common ground on.

There's nothing wrong with saying "we"

Oh, absolutely acceptable. It's all part of being a fan. Ever hear of home field advantage? As a part of a rocking home town crowd you indirectly contribute to the victory of your favorite team. As for me, I do my part by not watching my team, the Kentucky Wildcats play on television because when I watch they lose.

its good to see people passionate about something good i guess, it can be annoying to listen to, but people who talk trash against a team is even more annoying to me

Totally acceptable.
It makes you "part" of that team, which is what being a fan is all about, lol.

could be french people saying 'oui ' .

More than acceptable. There is the element of "ownership" in a fan -- whether it is a team, a school, a company...and that encompasses uses "we" instead of they. It allows the fan (or anyone else) to be a part of the happenstance.

as a fan, you obviously want them to win
you feel like crap when they loose
and happy when they win
so if it makes you happy, its acceptable

This is very lame. What could you possible win if your not on the team. All the best.
