All depends on the kind of stank their wearing. Take a dirty bum off the street and your nose would curl at the urine aroma. I get off a roof all hot, sweaty and sunburned and my wife goes crazy :)

Um, not always I don't think... someone COULD be unbathed but wearing deodorant and bodyspray... not MY policy, but theres probably some out there who mask their stink. But in MOST cases it's probably true :)

If someone looks unkempt, hair is unbrushed, clothes look dirty and rumpled, several days growth of facial hair, or gnarly beard (for men), then probably, yeah. I would say it's safe to assume they haven't visited a shower in a while, and most likely don't smell like French perfume!
Sometimes you can be surprised, though! I work with a guy who looks squeaky clean, but he tends to get pungent as the day wears on! I wish there were a tactful way to suggest using deodorant! I guarantee he owns none, or never uses it, anyway!
A lot of people think that you don't need deodorant in the winter, only in the summer. For the record, I am not aware of meeting anyone who is correct in that assumption!
