my top 3 in no order

in my opinion randy rhodes, zakk wylde, dimebag darrel, and slash dont even belong in the top hundred

No particular order:
- Brian May of Queen
- Kurt Cobain of Nirvana
- David Gilmour of Pink Floyd
- Ray Toro of MCR
- Frank Iero of MCR
- Jack White of The White Stripes
- John Frusciante of Red Hot Chili Peppers
- Jerry Garcia of the Grateful Dead
- Tom Morello of Rage Against The Machine
- Kim Thayil of Soundgarden

And, of course, all the people you listed. But I'd figure I'd mention a few that you hadn't.

10) Tony Iommi- Black Sabbath
9) Dimebag Darrell- Pantera
8) Steve Vai
7) Kirk Hammett- Metallica
6) Eric Clapton
5) Angus Young- AC/DC
4) Slash- Guns 'n' Roses
3) Jimmy Page- Led Zeppelin
2) Eddie Van Halen
1) Jimi Hendrix

Also, I'll give an example song from each guitarist.

Tony Iommi- listen to "Iron Man," "War Pigs," and "Paranoid" by Black Sabbath

Dimebag Darrell- listen to Pantera's "Cowboys from Hell" and "Walk"

Kirk Hammett- the solo for "Master of Puppets" is amazing.

Eric Clapton- "Layla" says it all.

Angus Young- most of his solos are pretty good, but to get the feel of his playing listen to "Hells Bells" "Back in Black" and "Shake a Leg" off of the Back in Black album.

Slash- many G'N'R songs would do Slash justice on his place in fourth. His best work is in the songs "Paradise City," "Welcome to the Jungle," "Sweet Child O' Mine," "November Rain," Estranged," "Breakdown," "Don't Cry," and "You Could Be Mine". "Patience" is also pretty good.

Jimmy Page- such a legendary guitarist. "Heartbreaker," "Whole Lotta Love," "Stairway to Heaven," and "The Song Remains the Same" explain why he claims the bronze medal.

Eddie Van Halen- really, does it get much better than "Eruption" or "Hot for Teacher"? I really need to know.

Jimi Hendrix- must I give you examples? OK, for novice guitarists I think I'd better. "Purple Haze," "Manic Depression," "Fire" and "Foxey Lady" off of the Are You Experienced? album, and pretty much any track from Electric Ladyland.

HONORABLE MENTIONS: Pete Townshend of The Who, Randy Rhoads, Duane Allman, Brian May.
