When someone goes for that "social hug" and you're not feelin'!


Question: You know the type...they're American 99% of the time, but then they want to go Russian and slap the bear hug on you at an office party or something.

Yes, I back up. If I want to annoy someone, I hug them realllly tight and don't let them go for a looooong time. Then I sway with them from side to side. My most recent victim was my sister in law.

    I lean in for the peck befor they get their stinky arms around me

    Leave them hanging and then play it off like it's joke so they dont feel bad about you not hugging them
    i'm not a big one for social hugs from a member of the same sex tbh. but u can't leave them hanging :P so i just keep it short n sweet
    I take one step back and get out of their "hug space" and give them the man hug (one arm around their shoulder and one arm still by your side)
    When I see them coming I just say something like, "Man, this rash is just killing me." Works every time.

    I consider myself fortunate to receive any hug. So should everyone...who are we to pick and choose our hugs, like we're too good for that persons hug...just give 'em a HUG!
