Does anyone here dodge road tax or car insurance?!

Question: Be honest. I promise I won't tell the DVLA (or DMV for Americans). I am just curious - I saw this article and it got me thinking.

I don't but neighbour thinks i do, i know it annoys him so i remove my tax disc every time i park in our off road parking yard and put it back in when i pull out.
I know it's childish but the Stupid old git deserves it

EDIT:
It is so funny, "you can't now its on computers" must be from the school that thinks ASBO's are a crime deterrent, speed cameras save lives and immigration is good for the UK

The truth is 1 in 10 of the cars on UK roads don't have tax and insurance and some no licence.
Similar ratio to foreigners living here, make you think?

you can't now its all on the computers

I dont think anyone will admit it it lol on here !

What, there's a licence fee as well.

what???

Maryland state law requires you to have car insurances or you cant drive, legaly that is.

Actually this gives me an idea for a question

No - Do you have any good tips too??..

I wouldn't even if I could x

Nope not worth the risk as they will crush your car if you get caught and I think nearly impossible not to get caught. My neighbour check car tax disc's to see if in date and wouldn't want to upset her lol!

There is a big difference between the two.. imagine you kill someone , or drive into a Picasso exhibition without insurance..

I do....but I don't think we should have to line the Governments greedy pockets.
Does it make sense to purchase something and then to pay tax on it ...even after we've paid the tax on the money we earn..What a scam!!!!

(sorry just having a 'commons' blow out!)

Looks like it's just bikes getting away with it,they are much stricter on cars,2 cars have been crushed off our road in the last 6 months for having no tax.

Nope, both cars and the bike in our household are fully covered for tax, MOT and insurance (robbing bastards) although we dont display the bike tax as people steal the tax disc but as it is computerised the police will know that we have paid if they stop us when out on the bike.

Not a chance .. round here they have the portable devices and the dvla are always round here.

In november they smacked big stickers on a lovely car " no tax" in red letters

They left the car for a few days and then towed it away

As for car insurance it is always paid as you never know .

We got smashed into boxing day our new car was a total write off as a result .

Both me and my daughter ended up in hospital and the insurance company paid out within 2 weeks and we had a hire car

We have never had an accident before and i for one am glad i was insured as to be honest if i did not pay i would be 10 k out of pocket

The best of it was i had only just renewed the insurance in November with a new company

Not me.

Scrap the road tax( a misnomer if there ever was one) and put it (fairly) on fuel/tolls a la European continent. No avoidance then.

NO it,s not worth it's all changed today. In my day you could get away with saying your'e car tax is in the post, but today it's all computerised and now they can tow your car away if you havn't got insurance and tax or even crush it,JUST another money making scheme from our Government i'm afraid so my friend i wouldn't risk it if i were you.

if your car/bike is legit you cant dodge tax unless you hide your vehicle when not in use but insurance im not so sure, either way dont be a schmuck, nothing worse than being hit by an uninsured driver! insurance is only expensive for the first few years after its ok mines was £900+ when i started driving now its approx £150, 4 years later (less than £14 a month cheaper than petrol!)

The law should be more strict with higher fine and DEFINATE jail sentances plus life bans for repeat offenders,
driving on public roads is a privelege not a right.

if i wanted to i couldnt, we have a mobility vehicle and the tax and insurance are provided by the state

Nope. Don't drive (except for ... people mad).

My husband keeps it up to date every year.
