Yeah. When I fart, my one dog will jump up and sniff herself. It is soooo freaking funny. She will give me a look like "What the heck was that?!" She does it when she farts too...so I guess if I didn't, I always know when she does!

Yes, the smell probably gets to their sensitive noses.

Yeah, my dogs always stop, look at their own butt, then start sniffing until the find mine. Sometimes the sound scares them too.

They have very good noses, so I'm going to say...yes.
Maybe not goldfish. Most of the other commonly kept pets have better senses of smell than we do and so might find the odor offensive (or overpowering;-) Dogs roll in dead animals so what they judge to be an offensive smell is questionable. I'm quite sure that none of them get the "socially unacceptable" aspect of this breach of manners;-))

A sweet little rosebud, such as myself always smells of rose petals, cherry blossoms, and sweet nectar that has just fallen off of a budding lilac in the spring morning mist ....
