Why do light sabers clash?!

Question: I mean, they're made of light right? surely they'd go through eachother?

Answers: I mean, they're made of light right? surely they'd go through eachother?

It would probably be because they wouldn't be made of light or laser as most people would think. Light/Laser would not be able to stop at a precise point (lenght of sword). As the article I reference indicates it would likely be more plasma like.

Plasma can be contained, but obviously the science has not caught up with science fiction in this particular item.

Also, the lightsabres can only be created/used by Jedis which must mean they use the "force" to control this particular weapon, which adds an element of the metaphysical which does not allow science by itself to recreate the phenomenon (otherwise, the empire could've just armed everyone with it)

;)

Never really thought about it until now.

because this is starwars were talking about... dont ever, EVER question the way of the force..

lol

Because the light is very condensed in the center.
