Funny you should ask - I spent a good share of the afternoon in our local hat shop. While I tend to favor the large and overblown hats for ladies, they look awful on me so I don't buy them. Hats that are felt and somewhat shapeless, like a cloche, similarly look awful on me - I have such a round face and a round head and these hats accentuate that in a non-flattering way. Hats that have a flat crown and a brim look pretty good on me, adding some height and angularity to an otherwise round package. I look fabulous in hats like Maverick wears in those movies and shows and think I should go back and pick that one up tomorrow.
actually depends on the place / time / conditions ...
but if it's bright sunshiny, I like one of those wide woven straw hats to protect my eyes .. and face ... from sunshine and UV
indoors, if there's bright flourescent lights overhead and I need to view puter screen, a baseball cap is ok
(I rarely wear hats tho)
