i have friends that do it all the time, which is why i feel bad for guys (they waste so much money on dating)

nope...free food is free food...go for the steak

everyone goes for free, at least its an invitation.

yes it would! but hey if one is hungry why not! unless, while eating you see this one big mistake! if that person were crazy, OMG! watch out!! If the person were someone cool, and you had a great time as friends, sure. why not!! Than some day you could invite them over to your home!

Nothing dishonest about it. They are paying for your meal and in turn you are giving them your company.

Well sure..why not?

I think that if I asked a lady out on a date, and she was not interested in a date with me at all, but only accepted to get a free meal, I would feel deceived and that she was not honest. I mean I did not just ask her out to give away a meal, I asked her out under a possible romantic date, without obligations. Just a possible romantic date. That is my offer. If she knows that it is a date and she accepts just to get a free meal, that is cheap and deceptive. I feel she is not honest and I lose all respect for her. I would have a lot more respect if she would have been honest from the start and said she was only interested in going out as friends. Those type of ladies I respected and admired. I am friends with one of them to this day. To accept a date to just get a meal without telling the other person is not honest. Almost like theft in a way.
