Why do americans hate persians?!
Question: O, Im a Persian girl, beautiful, student of art college and very independent. I live alone in USA and work full time as well, Im 24 years old and have never disrespected any other cultures, actully I LOVE diffrent cultures and even I love american culture too. I am very smart girl and got 4.00 GPA in college so far trying to be nice to all people, feminist, and very liberal but just dont know why people ( mostly white americans) are so mean to persians?..as soon as i interduce myself as an iranian girl they change their attitude..that's just ridiculous and childish to me...dont you all think that we all are human and we smile ,cry, feel pain, and feel happiness in same language???
well, i still dont care if someone wants to treat me crap because of their own immature attitude, but just curious to know why is that?
I dont give a crap about our or your politics. Im talking about human being not bin laden, khomeini or bush !

Being a reluctant American myself, I believe that the answer boils down to this: an average American expends as little energy possible when it comes to thinking. The average American watches far too much television and they parrot what they see.
I could go on forever about this.
I can only apologize for those who are such idiots and encourage you to keep looking for those who live beyond such ignorant thoughts.

In fact, i love Iranian culture, quite. I dunno if it is because I look like a girl from the desert but I love those Arab cultures and the desert, the scimitar, the thousand and one nights.

I know many people from Iran, and they do not think Americans hate them. It is very sad that you feel this way.
I don't think that they do. All of the Persian/Iranians I have known or met have been fine people. One has set up shop as a travel agent in my area; we have done business, and talked about the differences between Farsi and Arabic. Sounds as though you are doing well, and should be able to make some local friends. The actions of the present Iranian government are, unfortunately, another matter altogether.

this is the total reason why i dont introduce myself as iranian.. i say persian. i have found that whenever i say iranian people instantly think "o shes from iraq! poor her" its really rude. but people think im italian.. weird eh?
