How do I politely tell people that even though I have a cat I do not want clothi!

Question: Like giant pink sweatshirts with a cat on it with felt ears that move? You know what's next don't you? Knee length skirts, knee-high stocking with orthapethic shoes and me walking around the streets mumbling to myself pushing a shopping cart full of junk.

Its all connected.

I can totally picture you pacing around your living room angrily shouting about this same thing to your cats before you got on here.

Throat punch. Works everytime.

keep what they give you and donate them

Don't forget the fanny pack, and seqin visor

I know exactly what you mean. And there IS no polite way to do it so just accept it and put everything like that in a big box and hide it somewhere. They would really get their feelings hurt.

LOL...I can picture that. My mother would buy me those sweatshirts w/ huge animal pictures all over them. I just told her one day...I don't like the printed sweatshirts. Not a problem again. She was happy to not be spending the extra money...I'm good w/ a normal blue sweatshirt..nothing on it.

I have run into this problem again and again. Always snip in the bud. When they first ask you if you like cats say, "Yes I do. I don't know why I don't like decorations of them though." Its worked for me. Hopefully it will work for you! Good luck!! 8)

Oh man, i know what u mean!

Surrender to it.

It's inevitable.

someone gave my mom a cat sweater, she was highly offended as i think she is frightened of being a crazy cat lady

Tell people that you are not a collector of cat
memorabila(sp?). Explain that you have other interests as well. I love cats and love to receive
clothes with images of cats on them and I am not
walking around the street mumbling to myself.
Sorry dear, but I don't think it is connected.

I feel for you. I was horrified at the kitty cat watch that was more suitable for a 10 year old than a woman in her 30s. My father has bought me two totally inappropriate such watches in the last couple years.

I hate that! I got a huge fleece shirt with cats silhouettes and paw prints on it. And they found out that I collect lighthouse figures and gave me a hideous sweater with an ugo lighthouse on it. These ppl need to watch What Not to Wear.

When you receive something with cats just exclaim "OMG a designer dust rag" and that should give a hint.

that's great, I know what you mean though. People just think "oh, she likes cats, maybe she'd like one of those creepy fake cats that looks like they are sleeping"

That reminds me, i missed the cat show this weekend...bummer...
i could have won you a nice cat quilt and some pretty earrings with catheads on them

The ears move? That's AWESOME! Next time someone gives you anything with a cat on it, make a HUGE scene, throw in a couple of "This sucks!" and ask them if they think you are still 8 years old. That should start the healing process.

I completely understand. It would be one thing if you could get attractive clothing with any sort of animal picture on it... but it just can't be done. The thought of a "giant pink cat sweatshirt" make me grind my teeth.

There no need to be polite about it. Just let them know by posting a large sign in your front yard.

I say just spaz out and start yelling at them that they'd rather circumcise a wildcat in a phone booth than mess with you!
