rofl, i love sting. he wrote that song in 2 mins, one night when he couldn't sleep.
his x wife (at the time they were only separated) was an actress or in theatre, so he could watch her from a distance because they were both celebs, they'd be in the news alot, and he had contacts.
he din't physically keep an eye on her.
