Can you really get to know someone through Yahoo Answers?!

Question: Three answers:

1. Possibly, most likely...if you have spent the time for the PhD in clinical Psychology or the MD in psychiatry and there is a reasonable chance that the individual has not had so much therapy that he/she is somewhat adapt at rationalizing, using the applicable nomenclature he/she has heard time and again, in therapy.

2. You can only know the YA personality the individual wishes to profer. Now, the trained annalist can discover much but not sufficient information to render anything but an educated guess, which the competent annalist would never attempt to do.

3. The average member wouldn't have a clue as to the...real person in question. This is also true because often the..."person in question" doesn't know much of the truth about themselves.

I don't know, can you? You can only go off of what they tell you, right?

It's pretty superficial. But then, so is real life.

Nope, everyone hides something behind their computers.

not really, i think the most deceptive way people portray themselves is through the internet, look at all those scams on myspace and facebook.

You can but it would take work

I imagine over time you could.

NO, anyone can say anything on the internet. It could be the truth or it could be a lie.

not really

Sure.

Yes, depends on the type of person.. like me, I'm telling the truth.. what's the point if I'm lying here..

Yes, and no. You can probably tell if the person is an intellectual by the way they answer questions. But when you say 'really get to know someone', unfortunately I doubt it.

I think you can get to know people on here. Its on trust if you trust what people answer on here i think u can get to know someone sure.

Yes, but you must look for the 'meat' amidst the 'bones'.

No. Everyone is fake here. I hate this place. I don't know why I come here.

My apologies to all of my Answers friends. I wasn't talking about you. :P I was talking about all the fake people here. You guys are real to me, and you know that. :))

You can know someone through yahoo answers to some extend.

The way questions are answered could be easily seen or know how intelligent someone is. Though some have sugar coated tongue. This is by the way.

Some people are truly sincere to themselves, be it yahoo or normal life.

But fake are more than genuine.

I suppose you can if you ask enough of the right questions.
It won't be like knowing them in person though. Reading a bunch of thought-out questions and answers can only take you so far.

If you tend and want to know someone, then you will know him/her. it is the same in real life.

Up to a point...U can go back to the history of the person's questions and their responses and learn a lot by it.

Only if you are lucky enough to find an honest real person and not some clown.
