I know what you mean, it's really sad to think that these people clearly have nothing better to do. Why even sign up to Yahoo Answers - a site that is supposed to be about people helping one another, if you're just going to be nasty? And as you say, I think it's sad that they do it purely for the points. The asker should be able to deduct the points of those answers that are irrelevant, or nasty, afterall it is their question!
I'm glad you asked this question because on a couple of the wedding questions I asked today, i got rude answers! People are just point gaming!

because they are just plain mean and they are probably lonely and have no friends so they think the are cool by being bullies on line. In real life the most likely get their cans kicked on a daily basis!
i agree with you, some of the comments begger belief sometimes......i can only assume these peoplde leave sad lives with no friends, i have read some awful comments in the news and events section........

Because some people are so insecure with themselves, they feel the only way to feel better is to be nasty with everyone else. I firmly believe this! Its a question as old as time and it always gets the same answer because it is true.

Wherever humans gather you will get argument. We all claim not to be rude, but to disagree at all is sometimes seen as being rude!
It could be said that if you are never rude...you don't really care about anything.
I think It is mostly the kids that enjoy being so rude. Not because they don't know any better but because they weren't taught any better. I bet they are rude to their parents too.
I don`t understand either. Its not just young people, its older ones too. They just dont have a good life and they take it out on us. They hide behind their keyboards, bet you a nickel, they wouldn`t have the guts to talk like that to ones face.

It's junior high school kids. Why are so many of you so sensitive? Monday-Friday between 9:00 AM and 3:30 PM you rarely see that.
because they're inconsiderate and they don't feel good about themselves. because they dont have a high self esteem, they want other people to feel as bad as them.
There are a lot of people out there who don't like themselves very much and this site gives them an annonymous way to try and make others feel bad so that these people can feel good about themselves.
If you met them face to face they'd be probably very polite to you mostly.
They are cowards and I just ignore them.

like the idiots who have sent me abuse on email.. would they say it in real... nope, because they'd be eating bits of the pavement.
it's a bit like you see gangs of youths hanging around that you hear about in the papers, on their own they are weak... they are weak anyway if they can't fight on their own AND with their fists.
