My mum used to hoover around me when i was younger bloody annoying!!! Now I'm a parent of two girls i do the same to them ha ha!

sometimes

yup...

no, they live hundreds of miles away

Moved out 10 years ago, so don't have that problem!

mine live 230 miles away... so when they're here... they can hover as much as they like !!!!

At 44 I dont have that problem.

not anymore....

i don't live with them anymore. sometimes i kind of miss it now.

No, they live about 200 miles away

No... They gave me space...

dont live with mine

I see them maybe 1 or 2 times a year. no, they don't hover.

sometimes when i chat with friends.

i almost wish they had. i basically grew up without parents, although both were alive at the time.

Yeah! What are they doing anyway?!

yea, but its normal...

yes they do sometimes but i dont wanna shout at them or anything coz they're my parents after all.

No,they live in the Uk and i live in Germany

I wish they would have done it more. I'm 38, but I do remember being a teen. Now that I'm older with my own kids, I understand. They want to protect you and they do it out of love. You are only gonna be in their house for a short time and then they have to let you go and it is very hard to let you out into this big, mean world that will eat you alive if your not strong enough. Cut them a little break it's hard on them too. =)

yes my gran does. my mum's dead now and I don't live with my dad, so my gran does double the hovering and smothering! ahhh! lol but hey, suppose it's not her fault, she's only watching out for me and my sis :D

You are so very blessed to have parents to hover around you !
My parents died at an early age so I missed out on this any of this & grew up very lonely without them for support.
How old are you ?
Parents are very protective due to their deep love & caring that they hold for their children.
If you feel that they are really being overbearing why don't you try to discuss this with them & let them know your feelings.
This would make sense & would be of help to all of you.

No, they don't. They respect my privacy but keep contact.

Leave home and stand on your own two feet then. Simple eh.
