no way, don't do it, unless you want to be sick. I went to Mexico a few years ago and drank frozen Margaretta's and got really sick. Only drink things that you don't need ice for. Most resorts you are safe drinking stuff with ice, but really be careful. Personally I won't drink anything with ice there again.

u can but u will get sick and not have fun. when i went to rocky point my mom even made us brush our teeth with bottled water. so yeah, i wouldnt suggest drinking the tap water.
If you are staying in a hotel in the resort area you should be ok...but why take a chance...I suggest you stick with alcohol exclusively...its the only way to be safe.

I think you mean "tap" water and my answer would be "yes" it is true you should not (cannot is not a good word choice here) drink bottle water only. Also, if you decide to take the land bridge over to Tenochtitlan on the Yucutan Peninsula bring: food, water, a hat, and suntan lotion. You will not be told to buy them and half way through the "tour" you will be offered to buy them at twice the cost. That was my 1994 experience at least.
All the better hotels have their own purification systems.

YES IT'S TRUE!! I went to Cancun two yrs ago and after about three days of being home I ended up in the emergency, After 5hrs, they came in and asked if i had been out of the country lately,and when I told them I was,I was asked if I drank TAP (TAB) water, to make a long story short I had a Parasite, Heavy antibiotic's.

I don't know about Cancun,but lot of places tap water is not good,so if you don't spoil your holidays please avoid drinking tap water.

They call it Montezuma's Revenge. Don't even let them put ice in your drink, stick to bottled beer. Don't order any soup either.

Yes it is true. The do not have the proper filtration on their drinking water. Drink bottled water and you will not have to worry.
When my daughter and her partner went about 5 years ago (pre babies) she got very sick from food ( shell fish?) or maybe water poisoning and had to have an IV. Beware, but do have fun. At the time she had long hair, and got it braided on the beach. A beautiful place!
don't drink anything with ice,and soups!the classier hotels are ok,but i'd still only drink bottle water!a friend of mine went there and had a drink with ice,and spent most of the vacation,running to the bathroom!
