Should i get a puppy?!

Question: my friends dog just had puppies and said i can have one any one i want for free. its a pure breed lab.

i really want it. i can train it. i've helped train my friends dogs. i use to have a dog when i was younger so i remember. and it will help me in so many ways. i think animals make people happier.

but the negative is that my sister in law is allergic to dogs. and said if i get a dog. my older brother won't be able to come and visit me.

$%$%#$ her, what's more important, your happiness or your sister in law? You could always go visit them.

I have a black lab and he is the most awesome dog on the planet! (well I think so anyway!)

Get the puppy!

get the dog! she is the one allergic to dogs NOT your brother.
....and it's a pure Lab

well i would get one anyways their are ways to control yourself when your allergic like medicine. you could always go to your brothers house when you want to visit him. i love dogs and animals do make most people happier its a known fact.

If you are ready to accept the responsibility of caring feeding training cleaning Etc. & can afford the vet bills. & don't want to see your brother haha! Sure why not?!

Pisssss on her! Get a puppy!

How about, just...I know its impossible but just bring the dog to your "secret place" where your friends hang out and let some of your dog lover friends to carry your dog/puppy for awhile and go back and play with it.. stay it away from your sister in law.. based on my grandmother.. she dont want a dog because of past experiences that our dog has bitten many people and yet has rabbies and my grandmother has really high expense on the anti -rabies so If you keep a dog.. I really wish you luck in growing it right... don't tie it or it will grow up a noisy biting one and Don't get a female one because when it grows and will be pregnant she will bite some disturbance in her rest..

screw her get the dog why you even asking

awww....I like puppies! I would get it anyway! And if your bro does come over just like put it in another room or something or tell her to take her allergy meds and suck it up!

Get the dog. You and your brother can meet at restaurants. Your sister in law is being ridiculous if she says you and your brother can't see eachother at all. Many people in public have the "scent" on them. Your happiness is more important than your sister in law's.

You seem to have left out two things that are important when getting a puppy of any kind. They must be taken to the Vets for regular shots and care...that can be very costly. And like a child they need and expect a lot of attention. If you leave them alone they will cry ,they will chew on things you do not want them to and you have to be there to walk them and if you are not then you have lots to clean up.I know all of this because I raised two Alaskan Malamutes.Oh and did I say they have to be groomed ?

don't get it
maybe you'll get sad and upset but on the bright side, you wouldn't be ruining your relationship with your family
you could always go to your friends house to visit the puppies or maybe when you have your own house and your own life, get a puppy
but if getting a puppy now means you'd have to upset you brother, your sister-in-law and your mom, i think you shouldn't.

i think you should get it. my mother is allergic to cats and we got some. it took her a while to get used to them and then she wasn't allergic to them anymore (strange i know) but that may work in ur sisters case. so i say get it see how things work out and then decide to keep it or not :]

YES!! puppies are joy and fun!! i thought about getting one...

as long as you know you can handle it, it's alright. and i'm sure your family can get over it too, unless it's too bad, so really think about it and let me know when u have it!! :)

Get the dog. I am sure there are allergy medications that your sister in law can take meds to be able to stay around dogs. If not, and if it is a minor allergy she can come over and not touch the dog or rub her eyes or nose. Dogs are the wonderful companions and I do not think anyone should be denied one if they want one enough. And since you are willing to take all the responsibility, I say awesome and go for it! There are also some dogs that have hypoallergenic fur, my uncle is allergic to dogs and cats and he bought a havanese and they are happy. More expensive than free =), but another option for you.
