Is it wrong to laugh at people who mispronounce words?!
Question: My husband and I do this to our parents and although they go along with it, I am worried that they may get offended someday. My mother, grandmother, aunts and mother inlaw always mispronounce words and it is so funny. I laugh out of fun and I definitely don’t do it to make anyone feel bad. Here are some of the words that they use:
Concreek (concrete) – That concreek is cold.
Reimburst (reimburse) – I paid out of pocket for my eye glasses and the insurance company is going to reimburst me.
Woe-Marks (Wal-Mart) – I need to pick up a few things from Woe-Marks.
Wall-marks (Wal-Mart) – I need to pick up a few things from Wal-Marks.
Tied (Tired) – I am sick of tied of this mess.
Foke-sis (Folks) – There are a lot of foke-sis at this family reunion.
New Mornin’ (Pneumonia) – You better stop bathing and going out in the cold before you get the new mornin’.
There are many more but too many to list. I also notice they add an “s” on the end of everything.

Yes, you got me remembering all the mispronunciations I hear! haha There used to be Zippy Marts around and there was one gal who would always say "I'm going to the "Zip Market". My neighbor says "Wall-Mark" too! She also says, "K- Mark" and " I am so tarred of arn-in'" when she irons. It is pretty funny! Thanks for the laughs!
I think its disrespectful, but if they laugh with you then I guess it is ok. Depends on their reaction.
yeah...it is wrong my cousin does it all the time...I laugh be we joke around about everything...=-)
yea i do it all the time to my friends lol
