Happy non-denomonational celebration!

no, we didnt wear any santa's hat yesterday

No-I stayed sober both occations..

Count it bringing trouble 10 fold
But for comfort read the chpt 13 of the book of Mark

Who cares HAPPY NEW YEAR AND MERRY CHRISTMAS TO ALL

Happy 2008!!!!

Probably. too much political correctness in this world that we can't even say a festive greeting w/o offending someone.

no... i don't think so... i think that generally there is one main new year that most people recognize and it would take a mighty strong force from people who either a) don't recognize b) disagree with that new year to make it poitically inappropriate to say Happy new year. Anyway how else can we say it, 'Happy New Julius Ceaser Calender Year' Thats a bit of a mouth full don't you think?

Christmas is a controversial holiday, because it is celebrating the birth of Christ....... I celebrate Yule and I don't like it when people assume that I need a card about Silent Night and shepards in their field watching their flock by night... I don't get offended about Merry CHristmas because it is a generalized term... However, if you say Merry Christmas to me, I'll probobly not reply back, I might inform you about my religion, or just say happy holidays!..... New Year is completely different... 95% of all people own a julius Ceaser Calender.... It is something that we all celebrate, the passage of time, and the coming of a new opportunity to start a good year off right..... Now, we all aren't going to go out boozing together, and getting plastered and singing old lang syne... but at least, you will find that I can appreciate a good Happy New Year, but on Chinese New year I try and celebrate that too.... I respect other people holidays, as should everyone......
The other way to look at it, is

I don't celebrate Christmas, but you do, so I say Merry Christmas to you, because I know that it is important to you and I wish you a merry celebration of Jesus' Birth...

So in turn you could be kind back to me and say Blessed Yule or Happy Yule... and I would feel appreciated and acknowledged.......

Just because you use the phrase doesn't mean that you are worshipping my God, or vic versa, it is about peace and good will to men and all that jazz.......
