Why do we sing.....?!

Question: "Rock a bye baby" to lull our little ones to sleep when the song is about putting your baby in a tree and letting the wind crash the cradle to the ground?

fook knows

rebel all fairy tales are scary as he11
do you not know the origins

I've wondered that as well. What horrible imagery! But the tune is nice, so that much be it.

Health and Safety laws have stopped the singing of this irresponsible song.

because the sound of wind crash the cradle to the ground
is so comfortable and make you want to sleep.

It beats "Don't Fear the Reaper," doesn't it?

i dont no...i was wandering that myself...maybe it just goes together and the baby dont understand but its qiet an slow just enough for a baby to go to sleep...or maybe just to tell them that there going to be by there side even with the big winds blowing on them

because the sound of our voices, no matter what they are saying ( as long as its in hushed tones) is comforting to baby and that just happens to be the song the human race chose to sing!

ummm.... what? Lol

I don't know.

Because that's the kind of sick and twisted people we are....jk

That is better than the one my mom used to sing. Its is really short, but just horrible. Here are the words.

Go to sleep little creep, shut your big bloodshot eyes. Go to sleep little creep, I hope your teddy bear dies.

It is no wonder I am so messed up as an adult.
