Advice, please? Serious answers only?!

Question: One of my dearest friends is worrying me. Every week we meet for lunch, and she shows up late, drunk, in her blanket and slippers. Like this:

I know it's been tough with her 2 year old daughter up the river for embezzlement, but how can I tell her that her blanket and slippers smell like gin?

will tell her to buckle up

I don't know how to be serious....

Simple, open your mouth and say, "You are an alcoholic, go to AA".

ummm who cares. As long as you don't look worse than her...you're golden.

i would just sit her down and come out and say it. present he rwith the facts about too much drinking and what could happen to her and her family and friends if she doesn't quite.

oh lol! I love how you added that picture, but if she is really your freind talk to her, and when I say talk to her I mean talk to her when she is sober. Just tell her, if you guys are that close you should be able to tell her and its always easier to hearit from a freind rather than a stranger

Just start sniffing the air, then shout "Is someone moonshining around here??"

If you expect us to believe that YOU are the one with the drink problem

if you're really a friend tell her straight face...or atleast change her blanket & slipper when meeting you...

go swimming one day and "accidentely" kick the gin smelling items into the pool and let someone swimming say it smells like dat.

You got me. I was so taken aback by your 'serious question' heading that I got worried.

    That'll teach me eh?
    hehehehehehe..

Maybe try bringing some Lysol spray and dousing her blanket and slippers with a sheepish/worried look on your face. She might get the hint then..

(it isn't grundle is it...oh dear...)

tell her. help her get help. shes needs all the support she can get. shes not being a great mother being an alcoholic.

I wonder if shes nekkid under that?!?!?!?

Find her some help or talk to her about her problems. Buy her some new clothes or take her shopping along with her daughter and see if it cheers her up.

Could you tell her to take a shower and return my fav Gone With The Wind coffee mug? I can deal with the blankets reeking of gin but the stealing has got to stop.

just tell her about the hooker you picked up last night....and how she kind of smells the same way the hooker did but not as nice...that will get her thinking about the changes she needs to make in her exciting, yet shameful, life

This friend of yours, is she seeing anyone?

Wait, are you tryin to say its a bad thing to smell like gin? Im not following you

Smack her in the *** and straighten her up. What the hell is she thinking ruining a good pair of slippers.

humor makes me so hot....dump the friend and crawl back to bed with me...

You know? I think the best friend is the one who knows how and when to tell the truth when we need to hear it. I think you could talk to her in a loving caring way, the way you would like for her to talk to you if you were in this situation. So just talk to her with love and tell her to wash the freaking blanket or drop it! Kidding, just tell her that she has a baby who needs her!
Good luck and I star you for being such a wonderful friend! God bless you!
