First off, most of them are people just trying to make a living just like you and me. No need to get upset at them any more than to get upset at any other job. I usually don't pick up, but if I do, I let them go through their spiel(not really listening or caring) because that is how they are graded. But as soon as they pause to take a breath, I say "Thanks for calling but I am not interested"and I hang up. Don't shoot the messenger people!!
I just tell them to hold on a minute, then put the phone on the side......they'll soon get bored of waiting!!

I repeat everything they say then try to sell them something I have.

depends on my mood ,, some times i tell them why don;t you give me your number and i will call you at home ,, on a later time,,
or my husbands asks them what color their underware is ,,
"What's your company's name? What's your name? Thank you. I'm a cranky paralegal with nothing better to do than trot down to the courthouse and file suit if you call me again. I'm on the Do Not Call list. Got it? Thank you, bye."

we have caller ID I mostly pick the phone up & hang up right away
I don't answer numbers I do not recognize...if it is important they will leave a message!
I tell them all about the corns on my feet and the weird smell that is coming from my oozing bellybutton.
I tell them that I'm under 16 and that I'll get a parent. Then I leave them hanging forever....It really p i s s e s them off. Once the person actually waited for 25 minutes. Man were they fired up. I said "hang I'll go see where they are", and left them hanging again. Boy did they not ring back in a hurry.

I pick up and if it's not a automatic machine,
I stop them in mid sentence and say,
"I'm sorry but I'm in a hurry and don't have time for this right now, can I get your home number so I can call you when I have time and bug the shiz out of you?"
I usually buy whatever they are selling so as not to offend them
Answer the phone, then turn the questions around on them, ask them what would be a good time to call them back.
i got a call from a carpet cleaning telemarketer, i asked them if they could get blood out of carpet? A LOT of blood......
Usually I don't pick up, if I do then I just cut them off and tell them that I'm not interested.
I would love to tell them that I'm busy right now but if they leave their number I will call them back when they are eating or in the bathroom.
I get their company name and number and report them. I'm on No-Call.

i say hold on a minute let him wait for 30 minutes and if hes still on the phone say "oh im sorry you were saying"lol!then hang up!or just dont answer!
being a male(if its a female) i try to score a date with no intentions of going on it
If I happen to accidentally pick up the telephone, I tell them I'm on the do not call list. I tell them to remove me from their calling list because if I hear from them again, I will sue.
I don't get many of those calls, because I'm registered with donotcall.gov.
I just tell them to put me on their "do not call" list.

hand the phone off to different people every few minutes
pretend to get murdered.
