Question: I thought about it. I had mine when I was 21, with no children.
I could have kept it a secret because there is no scar. But, I always spoke up about it. And, believe me, it was a real "deal-breaker" when dating. Many women will kick you out of the "dating pool" if you are sterile.
Now that I am over 40, most women, my age, are done having kids, or don't want them (like me), so there is no reason to keep it secret.
About 5 years ago a young Asian lady had a crush on me (well she wanted to hook up with a US citizen anyway). After I told her I had a vasectomy, she lost interest 100%. I avoided a complicated situation.
