Have you ever given someone a Best Answer just to reply to their comment??!

I can do that with an email or IM, if they have that option open.
Or I can also do it in "add comment". That way I don't have to compromise the integrity of my Best Answer selection process, which usually consists of me closing my eyes and randomly plonking my finger against the screen.....

i always forget the comment part.
sure you can prove him or her wrong or give him or her knowlege, but most people do it at the after answer box by saying the name of that person
OMG!! I'm thinking about doing that!!!!! I'm torn though, but I can't just allow for someone to say something rude and get away with it. I just hate that I am going to have to give them 10 points in order to respond (because a lot of the time, they don't allow e-mails) and I know they are going to be thinking that I'm a moron since I gave them a best answer.
*But, I say do it, and give them a piece of your mind!! :)

No, I don't do that. If I want to reply to a comment I just add details to the question in which I say whatever I want to say! I must admit, however, that I am guilty of giving best answers to my friends to help them get more points sometimes!

No. I get more characters to use if I reply with an edit, and I don't have to wait.
I do, however, always try to find an appropriate comment for the Best Answer, so the recipient knows what I liked about it.
No, I haven't ever done that. No offense if you choose to do that, but I think that would be kind of a dumb idea just to choose someone as your best answer, just to reply to their comment. You could always let the voters decide what answer should be chosen as the best, or you could really look at all of the answers and then ask yourself, What answer is really the best answer and most imformative to what you were looking for?
