Ragu, prego, or something else?!
Question: what spaghetti sauce do you use most often?
Answers: what spaghetti sauce do you use most often?
Prego
Patsy's
Homemade.
prego traditional...
i make my own.
del monte
ragu =)
I try to avoid Prego, it costs too much and lasts for 18 years.
Homemade is the best, but if you must use storebought stuff use Ragu or Prego. AVOID Classico. Classico is watery and bland.
I buy Classico. It is very chunky and there are tons of flavors to choose from.
Prego might be classic, but ragu does it best.
Mid's is the BEST !!!
Store brand from Aldi
Ragu
home-made baby. the italians do it right.
(I'm not italian at all, but my full blooded italian cousins make the best sauce.)
homemade.
I NEVER buy jarred spaghetti sauce. It is soooo easy to make a simple sauce, and you can just keep the ingredients around.
Warm a couple tablespoons of olive oil in a sauce pan. Add garlic (you can buy minced garlic in a jar and keep it in the fridge), basil and oregano. Then add a small can of tomato paste and a can each of diced tomatoes and tomato sauce or puree. Put in a little water so it can cook down a bit. Taste while cooking; if it's a little too bitter, add just a bit of sugar (maybe 1/2 teaspoon). Cook for 20-30 minutes - DONE!
I think its Prego - I just look for the Italian Sausage kind -I forget what brand it is.
