My friend's mom does that. It would normally embarrass me, but I don't get embarrassed. She does it to her son to - he is 27. I think it is strange. My mom has NEVER kissed me on the lips. My gay friends kiss me on the lips when they are trashed and I guess I don't care when I am trashed either. Some people just do that. If you don't like it - say something like I did. It is not the end of the world, but some people just do that. Maybe it is cultural? I guess I really don't care, as long as it doesn't feel romantic. You would know if it does or not. Tell this person that your husband does not like it and not to do it again. Surely they will respect that. My gay friends respect that I do not care for this practice. It does not make me angry or violent, just uncomfortable. They are usually cool with that - unless they are really trashed, which they usually are if they kiss me.

You are not giving your husband his proper respect neither is your friend. Friend or no friend kissing a person on the lips can still be considered an INTIMATE thing. Respect your husband's feelings on this matter after all he is YOUR HUSBAND.

Really good question! I wouldn't like another guy slobbering on my wife every time we bump into each other, if it had been a long time that's different. Sounds like this guy is sneaking a free one at every turn and if I was your hubby this hug stuff would get old quick too. I'm a stick in the mud I guess but I don't like guys hugging guys EVERY time we see each other. That's me :)
