What is Generation X?!

Question: I've heard the term before, but I'm not too sure what it means.

Answers: I've heard the term before, but I'm not too sure what it means.

An abbreviation of the term "Generation X", which refers to anyone born (usually in the US) between approx. 1965-1976.

Preceded by the "Baby Boomer" generation and followed by "Generation Y", Gen Xers were stereotypically portrayed by the media as cynical, nihilistic, underachieveing "slackers" who wore piercings and listened to grunge music (popular in the 90's when Gen Xers were mainly in their twenties).

I think it refers to the Baby Boomers (or the boom in births after WW 2)
Today our generation is called Generation Y.
