Could you put an animal's life ahead of a person's?!

Question: I've seen so many posts from people saying "I'd save a dog's life before I'd save a person's life" or "I cry when I see a dog die on TV, never a person dying".

I love dogs. I have two rescue dogs and I'm a big fan. But I am floored that people can compare dogs to humans. I guess we are desensitised to the death of people on TV, not so much animals. But I always think, what if someone ran into a burning building and rescued your dog and left your mother? What if it were you who lost a loved one like that person on TV? You would be devastated for life. The death of a dog is sad, but it happens and we get over it even if the memories remain forever. And charities - many people will donate to an animal charity while people starve and freeze on the streets.

How do you feel about it?

No. I once saw on the news that someone had dumped a new born baby in a out house. With used drug needles feces and everything disgusting you can think of.
The news woman said the news as if nothing. As if she were talking about something none important.
At a different day she gave news about someone stabbing a duck with a screw driver. She was outraged at what they had done. I on the other hand was outraged at how cold heartily she gave the news about the human baby. And how she made a fuss about a duck. I put humans first always.

Right on Spicy! I saw the story about the duck too. Sad, but humans kill each other everyday, and that is the most sorrowful thing of all!

Janey, good job on the best answer going to Spicy! Report It

  • I think people are more upset because (sometimes) dogs are so innocent and usually don't do anything wrong.

You're talking about Mary Harney. Irish 'politician'

ok and wen ppl die ull get over that and have the memories too. i think animals r better than people and deserve more respect and love. but thats just me. im not a people person...never was

It makes me feel sad, but animals are a very important part in our environment. Only God knows why

NO! I will say this again even though I get billions of thumbs down everytime I do-ANIMALS do NOT have SOULS! They are here for us to USE-EAT, WEAR, EXPERIMENT ON. I have a huge problem with our gov't even our community donating money to animal shelters when there are people starving on the street.

People are much more than other animals, but if I saw someone harming/poaching an endangered species, their life would be forfeit, no regrets.
