The extinction of the old style light bulb...?!
Question: There is a post on Yahoo's main page about the end of the incandescent light bulb. This was a great invention, but they say newer, more efficient bulbs are the way to go. Personally I have tried the new bulbs, I bought a 3 pack and one is defective, doesn't hardly even light up at all and the other 2 are pretty dim compared to a regular bulb. Have you tried the new bulbs and what are your thoughts on this?

Hey Bam Bam...I think those new bulbs really stink! I got some that are supposed to equal 60 watts and it's so friggin' dim, I thought that I was going blind. Then hubby got me some equal to 100 watts and that was no better. I put one in for my front porch light and use one as a night light...

they are more energy efficiant, but whenever I use them I feel like I'm in a store, they are not as welcoming as the old bulbs.
It was a great invention. It's time to move on.
replaced all my light bulbs with the new fluorescent bulbs,cant tell the difference.
I don't think they produce as much light, either. On the other hand, you do get used to it. I've replaced all my replaceable bulbs w/the newer ones. The best part is not feeling guilty when I leave my bedroom light on in the evening.
Yeah the new bulbs really suck. Most are dim or won't last long. Stock up on the old ones or look into actually making them its not to difficult. I'm planning on stocking up huge amounts. If i run out I'll just make old ones then.
