As long as soccer moms exsist and can find ANYTHING to complain about, and they make laws about not disciplining our kids then put us in jail for not disciplining our kids...we will never be as liberal as Europe...A lot of Americans don't know how to mind their own business...They always have something to say about what's going on in other people's "Homes" when they don't even correct the problems in their own homes...

All the things you mentioned have been going on for a long time. Personally, as an American, I have never in my life ever seen anyone that was really all that uptight about anything...it's all in what crowd you hang around with, I guess.

No, I don't think US citizens are becoming less "uptight." I think the trends you mention are simply the logical extensions of our egocentric culture. Individuals are so fascinated with themselves that they think it is OK to talk about anything and everything which pertains to themselves or gratifies them...sort of like a child who has not yet learned that people in polite society don't discuss their toilet productions. Some day the pendulum will swing...but I've no idea when that will happen.
I believe the US is becoming more uptight. And more critical of what used to to be normal activities. We can't even say "Merry Christmas" (gasp!) without thinking we may have
offended someone. Trophies in kids sports are frowned upon because the "losers" may get a complex that would be life altering. A simple compliment to the opposite sex could even cause you to lose your job because of sexual harassment. The US becoming LESS uptight... I don't think so!
