When a guy tells you he's an "artist", do you automatically assume!

Question: either that or he has rich parents that support him, but when he gets married that will pass onto his spouse....

Answers: either that or he has rich parents that support him, but when he gets married that will pass onto his spouse....

no

No, just really creative.

No

No, just really, really lame for using that line.

No, never. But I'm still jealous

yes

Hey now I'm not a guy but I'm an Artist!!

Yup, "starving" automatically goes with "artist."

I assume he's rich in heart..

I assume that and that he's into other guys.

'Artist' is often code for selfish jobless peeps too delicate and intellectual to work.

well if this title pays all his bills n he has a life no
but if he is an artist but always broke than he is inmature

no it all depends on what kind of arist and how good he is

Yes

No my husband is an artist (music artist) and is quite wealthy. My friend Jayden is an artist (painter/writer) and also makes enough to live comfortable with his wife and three kids.

no, i have a lot of guy friends who are artist, they have their creative ways of making money with their art!

depends on the context

artist by profession? Perhaps, did you ask what kind?

Artist as hobby? Well he may not be poor

I call myself an artist, not by profession but by hobbie, and im anything but poor.

I'm an artist, and I'm really rich. Well, my parents are, same difference

ok well when a guy says that he's an artist it depends on what kind or artist like if he draws or is a singer and if he draws no not nessacerliy because some and most artist make very good money but if he's a singer than yeah he probably is poor sorry

Jordyn

Absolutely!!

No not really.

No, an Artist is Rich in Imagination, spirit and creativity :)

No.

Your avatar is soooo cool!

Yes because it is normally a proven fact of life.

No I assume hes a pot head.

No...call me crazy or zany, but I will assume he knows how to paint and draw...

Maybe it's just me!

I will bet you anything that he is dirt poor. Unless his parents spoil him with cash there is no way he has any money at all. I bet he flips burgers to get some income. He also probably lives with is folks so he doesn't have to pay rent.

When he says what he does for a living the word artist simply means I AM POOR

If you hear "I am an artist," run...If you get an pleasant insightful introduction enjoy. Consider that an artist is someone who works, it's a job. Would you consider stating "I am a sales person at a thrift store and was given a raise last month...," or "I am an artist who just finished a six month project that is now on display and might sell?"

I would prefer "Hi, I RT and thought I would enjoy talking to you..." I don't think people are comfortable talking about their job or work in a social setting unless they are trying to impress someone.

"Hi, I'm a doctor..." is usually followed by "hey doc, I have this condition, and..."

What people do is there own business.

yes....what else would I assume??
