Question: He has no family here, but some in connecticut, whom he can't afford to take the time off to go see. He will be all alone for the holidays. She wants to do something nice for him, but since the holiday gatherings are not at her house, and she feels he would not be comfortable in the setting she will be in, that's not an option.
Does anyone have any suggestions of things she could do for him that might make his holiday a little nicer. He just really doesn't know anybody as he's fairly new here.

she should just invite him to go with her or give him a gift certificate to a nice place to eat. or maybe set him up with a friend of hers on a date
maybe they can take him out before or after the holiday gatherings. Maybe to dinner or something. Were does he live?
Take him out Christmas eve, or whatever, or buy him a plane ticket to visit family, or hire an escort for him.
