First of all, let me say that I'm very grateful for having received anything at all. My employers gave me a $500 gift cert, but I'd much rather have the cash.

i think the gift cert. 500 in cash i'd end up paying a bill or soemthing, atleast with a gift certificate at sAks i would pick out like a nice piece of jewelry or a bag and then be able to tell my coworkers, "look what i bought with my gift cert!"
and props to them for knowing your style and picking a place like saks, and for that amount!

My employer gives me 10 % of profits..helps that i'm self employed too.But cash i suppose is better,so you can spend it anyway you like.
